The Gallery runs an
extensive range of public programs to complement the permanent collection, the
Gallery site, temporary exhibitions and major national and community events.
These programs are designed to enhance visitor enjoyment and understanding,
and ensure that the Gallery services a wide variety of people.
The Gallery’s public program of
events includes lectures, tours, forums, artists' talks, curators' talks,
professional development seminars, musical performances, workshops and
children’s activities.
The grounds and some indoor spaces
are also available for hire for independent functions, wedding photographs and
performances.
Guided tours are offered for
groups free of charge on request, although bookings are required.

The Gallery Sculpture Trail
The Gallery Sculpture Trail through the gardens
is an interactive program that includes drama activities, listening and looking
games and a drawing activity, especially suited for infants and primary
students.
The Bathhouse Projects
Originally the Lewers Outdoor
bathroom, the space is intimate and intriguing and lends itself to fun and
funky, mysterious and magical or quirky and offbeat installations.
We are calling for proposals from
high schools to hold an exhibition in this space. All
proposals must include a conceptual justification and a description with images
of the works to be installed.
This is an excellent opportunity for
students to examine the role of the gallery in contemporary practice. Phone
Naomi on 02 4735 1100 for more information.
REMEMBER: The Gallery is a
regional resource. If you have any ideas or suggestions about ways you would
like to work with us or particular workshops you would like your students to
experience phone Naomi, our Education and Public programs coordinator on 02 4735
1100, to discuss
your ideas. |
