View a focus exhibition and then head to the studio with your tutor to make an artwork inspired by what you have seen.
26 February
After an exhibition tour of Hello Dollies to see the assemblage dolls sculptures of Peter Baka, students will work in the studio with tutor Vennessa Mayer to create a mixed media collage in the shape of a doll-like figure. Students will use a variety of materials, including beads, soft wire, coloured card and quirky doll and animal photocopies. Suitable for boys and girls.

Go on an exhibition tour of A House for two Artists, then use your experience of seeing the bright, geometric work of artist John Nicholson to create a colourful 2D collage and a 3D geometric sculptural form.
29 April
Kid’s Club will be inspired by the landscape paintings of Aboriginal artist Jake Soewardie, in his exhbition A Portrait of our Mother. Then work inthe Gallery gardens ‘en plein air’ (outdoors) to create a painting of your own. Workshop will go ahead regardless of weather.
27 May
Inspired by the paintings in 21st Century Beginnings, The Corrigan Collection of Aboriginal Art, students will create a concertina style book to display a collection of small aerial
paintings/drawings in a range of media. The artworks children create will be inspired by their own stories of home and community.
