Art Blocks For Tots 2012

Gallery and art making sessions especially designed for tots.

3 – 5 year olds  
$10 per child
 
Bring your tot to the Gallery for a mid-morning child sized adventure. Explore the exhibitions with a gallery educator. Designed for pre schoolers to have fun whilst learning and being creative. Help them discover the basic building blocks of art through sound, images, story telling, interactive activities and art making. All materials supplied. Adults don’t pay but must stay!
Friday 30 March, 10am – 11am – Come on a child sized tour of the Hello Dollies exhibition. Discover different ways to make dolls inspired by the artworks. Make a doll family of your own and a portable home for them to live in.  
Friday 25 May, 10am – 11am  –  Discover beautiful Aboriginal artworks in the 21st Century Beginnings exhibition. Make your own artworks inspired by what you see. Make a concertina book, with a pocket on each page to keep the treasures you’ve created.
 
Friday 27 July, 10am – 11am- Watch stunning footage of famous prima ballerina’s in Prima: Morte: Live. Learn about rhythm in drawing. Join in a group drawing activity and then make a ballet dancer out of surprising materials to take home.
 
Friday 28 September, 10am – 11am - Be part of a treasure hunt in the Snap Shot International Teenagers Photographic Prize exhibition. Look for colour, shape, pattern and subject in the photos on display and then make a toy camera out of recycled materials.
