Event Details

One big day of inspiring, creative writing for kids aged 9-12!

Join Harry Laing, kids’ poet and rapper extraordinaire, for a day long experimental wordfest and zine making adventure at Penrith Regional Gallery & The Lewers Bequest.

See how the Sydney Modernist artists broke all the rules, and aim to do something brand new, too!

With Penrith Regional Gallery & The Lewers Bequest’s Spring Exhibition Suite, Emu Island: Modernism in Place and the Young Moderns in the Lewers House Gallery for inspiration, you can totally rock the new zine zone!

Get Abstract. Experiment. Think Geo-met-ric constructivism.
Add some colour and then some light… like a poke in the eye? That isn’t right!!

Five hours to create your own way out zines with a modernist theme, where the writing rules are: you can break the rules!
