Education
The Gallery’s Education Program seeks to engage a diverse audience by providing a range of educational and recreational activities based on the Gallery’s site – a unique example of an artist’s home with in situ artworks, colonial, modernist and contemporary architecture and an artist-designed heritage garden – its 1930–78 collection of Australian abstraction and its contemporary exhibition program, which often focuses on issues relating to western Sydney.
The Education Program is comprised of interactive initiatives for four main groups of visitors:
• infants and primary school students and teachers
• high school students and teachers
• tertiary students and teachers
• members of the general public from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds and those with a special interest or a disability.
The Gallery also delivers professional development opportunities through its teacher development programs and volunteer programs.
Other cultural/community service providers are encouraged to use the Gallery site as a location for cultural initiatives.
