The 1986 murder of Anita Cobby was tragic
and affecting. None of us can or should forget it.
The 'Anita and Beyond' exhibition celebrates a life
lost and a legacy both potent and affirming. With
care compassion and firm resolve Anita and Beyond
has been guided and developed by a community
curatorium. Their aim has been to examine life after
violence in an attempt to heal. Anita and Beyond is
an ambitious mix of social history, personal memories
and contemporary art. The exhibition presents twelve
of Australia's foremost contemporary artists
engaging with the effects of Anita's rape and
murder. |
