Margo Lewers: late works (1970 - 1978)
(February 3rd - March 25th 2001)
An exhibition of
abstract paintings, plexiglass sculptures and
painted textiles executed from the early 1970s until
her death in 1978. These late works are more
assured, lyrical and suggestive of her pictorial
investigations of the early 1950s which explored the
qualities and properties of reflected and refracted
light and the use of interlocking planes of colour.
Gettin' Lucky (February 3rd - 25 March 25th
2001)
An exhibition project that aims to
investigate, through contemporary visual art, the
culture of luck and the purpose built leisure
environment. From the neon lit interiors of the
Panthers entertainment complex - this shrine of
popular culture with its pulsating dance floors,
glitter and electronic sounds - is a promise of
enjoyment, entertainment and fortune. The seven
artists will create work in a variety of media in
response to the social and cultural concerns of
'gambling and luck'. Sponsored by
Penrith Panthers
Contemporary Chinese Woodblock Prints (Shandong
Province) (December 2nd 2000 to January 28th
