This panel discussion features four exhibiting artists from Gettin' Lucky, each willing to share their unique experiences. The panel includes:

Anne Kay – winner of a 2001 Anne & Gordon Samstag International Visual Arts Scholarship, and completed a studio residency at Artspace. Anne has recently returned from Los Angeles where she gained an inside look into the LA art scene.

Sarah Goffman –Director of Elastic Project Space, former Director of First Draft Gallery. Sarah has been awarded a number of professional development opportunities, including a NSW Ministry for the Arts residency at the Gunnery Studios, and has also taught art to intellectually disadvantaged children.

Josie Cavallaro – artist coordinator for Sculpture by the Sea and Curator of Gettin' Lucky. Josie has also studied in Thailand through an Asia-Pacific mobility grant, and completed her Honours in Visual Arts in Thailand.

Alex Gawronski – finalist in the Moet & Chandon National Touring Exhibition in 1999, co-Director of Blaugrau artist-run gallery, Editor at Real Time magazine and former tutor at Sydney College of the Arts. Alex has also completed an Australia Council residency in Rome.

There will also be information regarding professional development opportunities for artists, including courses, grants, scholarships and other forms of assistance. The panel will discuss their individual career experiences, how and why they became practicing artists, advice and assistance that has helped them along the way, how to get your work shown in galleries, and much more. There will also be plenty of time for questions and to check out the Gettin' Lucky exhibition.
