Selected works from The Nolan Gallery

An exhibition of works covering the period 1940s to the late 1980s, selected by Peter Haynes, Director of the Nolan gallery, in the ACT.  Works include the iconographic Ned Kelly and Burke and Wills paintings of the 1940s; the Rimbaud Cezanne series of the late 1970s; mixed media Bird Series of the early 1980s, and the Computer Graphic Series of the late 1980s.
Nolan is perhaps Australia's most internationally renowned artist; within Australia he is best known as a painter associated with the Melbourne Angry Penguins alongside Albert Tucker, Arthur Boyd and John Perceval.
