New Works NEW WORKS

Over the past couple of years a number of significant artworks have been acquired through Gallery purchases and donations.  This small group of paintings, works on paper and sculptures by artists such as Carl Plate, Elwyn Lynn, Denise Green, Wendy Paramor, Roy Fluke, Gerald and Margo Lewers, Colin Lanceley and others are indicative of the Gallery's overall collection of abstract works and in particular the original Lewers Bequest.  Equally significant is the generosity of individuals who have a commitment to cultural philanthropy by generously donating relevant works of art to the Gallery.   Such acts of goodwill allow the Gallery to develop its permanent collection of Australian artists within the period of the 1930s to the late 1970s.
