Intimate Glimpses
An exhibition from Macquarie University Art Gallery JULY 28th - SEPTEMBER 30th 1999

effy.jpg (13061 bytes)An exhibition of ninety black and white photographs by three contemporary photographers.  The variety of images explore the many histories shared by the inhabitants of this country and serve to alter our perception of what it means to be an Australia in this year of the Centenary of Federation.  The experience of the people depicted are diverse, from Greek-Australians living in Queensland to the locals surfing at Avalon beach through to mythical elements of traditional Aboriginal culture in contemporary Australia.

Effy Alexakis: Boomerang Cafe, Tsakissiris family, Silkwood, QLD. 1987.
